In today’s MiningMaven podcast, we catch up with veteran investor Paul Johnson. Paul has been dabbling with stocks for 30 years, focussing on the natural resources sector over the past decade. With a wealth of experience under his belt, MiningMaven caught up with Paul to extract his current thoughts on the space. Paul describes investing in junior natural resources as a ‘rollercoaster ride’ but says he tends to maintain a position throughout the cyclical phases of the market to keep abreast of what’s going on. Paul is always on the lookout for unloved stocks offering potentially significant upside but highlights a key factor in making an investment decision is the companies cash balance and how much of cash runway that provides.
The effect the current macro climate is having on commodities is also discussed and Paul highlights two stocks he believes are particularly misunderstood by the market – ECR Minerals, and Thor Mining.
