BIOX, ABM, ASO, BILI, NIO: Earnings Preview

This week's earnings updates include Bioceres Crop Solutions Corp (NASDAQ: BIOX), ABM Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ABM), Academy Sports and Outdoors Inc (NASDAQ: ASO), Bilibili Inc. (NASDAQ: BILI), and NIO Inc. (NYSE: NIO).

Here are some key earnings reports to look out for in the week ahead:

Bioceres Crop Solutions Corp (NASDAQ: BIOX)

Bioceres Crop Solutions Corp (NASDAQ: BIOX) will report its Q4 and full-year 2022 results on September 8, 2022. FactSet estimates have an EPS consensus of $0.16 and a sales consensus of $323.96m. 

BIOX recently merged with Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: MBII).

Bioceres Crop Solutions Corp. provides crop productivity solutions designed to enable the transition of agriculture towards carbon neutrality. The company incentivizes farmers to adopt environmentally friendlier production practices. Bioceres has a unique biotech platform with high-impact, patented technologies for seeds and microbial ag-inputs and next-generation crop nutrition and protection solutions.

BIOX stock has a forward price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) of 26.1. Its price-to-book-value (P/BV) is 6.3. BIOX stock does not come with a shareholder dividend.

76% of Bioceres’ revenues come from Argentina, which exposes it to extreme foreign exchange (forex) rate fluctuations. BIOX currently has a market value of $842m.

Over the past year, BIOX stock has traded between $9.27 and $16.43. Today it trades at around $13.57. Year-to-date, the Bioceres stock price is down by -4.5%, while the S&P 500 is down -18.19% over the same period. 

FactSet analysts have a consensus Buy rating on BIOX stock with a target share price of $24.25.

ABM Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ABM)

On September 9, ABM Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ABM) reports Q3 earnings for the quarter ending July 2022. FactSet estimates have an EPS consensus of $0.90 and a sales consensus of $1.91bn. 

ABM Industries Incorporated is a facility services contractor. The company provides commercial, industrial, and institutional customers with air conditioning, engineering, janitorial, lighting, parking, security, and other outsourced facility services. ABM Industries serves clients worldwide.

The $3bn company recently acquired RavenVolt, Inc., a leading provider of advanced turn-key microgrid systems. RavenVolt will become part of ABM’s Technical Solutions industry group. 

Over the past year, ABM Industries, Inc. (ABM) has traded between $38.08 and $54. Today it trades at around $44.97.

Year-to-date, the ABM stock is up by 10%, while the S&P 500 is down by -18.19% over the same period.

FactSet analysts have a consensus Overweight rating on ABM stock with a target share price of $62. 

ABM stock has a P/E of 21. Its P/BV is 1.8, which is well above the industry average of 0.3. ABM stock comes with a dividend yield of 1.7%.

Academy Sports and Outdoors Inc (NASDAQ: ASO)

Academy Sports and Outdoors Inc (NASDAQ: ASO) reports Q2 earnings on September 7. FactSet estimates have an EPS consensus of $2.07 and a sales consensus of $1.7bn.

Academy Sports and Outdoors, Inc. is a leading full-line sporting goods and outdoor recreation retailer in the United States. Initially founded in 1938 as a family business in Texas, Academy has grown to 263 stores across 17 states. The company offers sports apparel and footwear, marine products, fitness, golf, hunting, fishing, boating, team sports, recreation, and leisure equipment.

ASO stock has a P/E of 6.1. Its P/BV is 2.4, well above the industry average of 0.3. ASO stock comes with a dividend yield of 0.7%. 

Over the past year, ASO stock has traded between $25.10 and $51.08. Today it trades at around $42.80.

Year-to-date, the Academy Sports and Outdoors Inc (ASO) stock is down by -3.37%, while the S&P 500 is down -18.19% over the same timeframe. 

FactSet analysts have a Buy rating on ASO stock with a target share price of $54.55.

Bilibili Inc. (NASDAQ: BILI)

Chinese stock Bilibili Inc. (NASDAQ: BILI) will report its Q2 earnings on September 8. FactSet estimates have an EPS consensus of -$0.64 and a sales consensus of $709m. Sales guidance comes between $725.6m and $740.5m.

Bilibili is known for its comics website and for providing online entertainment services. The company offers a platform that covers various genres and media formats, including videos, live broadcasting, mobile games, animation, and comics. Bilibili serves customers in China.

Shares of Chinese companies tend to experience added volatility as Chinese factory data is released. COVID-19 lockdowns and a housing crisis are affecting the Chinese economy. Furthermore, the US SEC is threatening to delist several Chinese stocks, which also weighs on their share prices.

This company has negative cash flow and EPS with a P/BV of 3. 

Over the past year, BILI stock has traded between $14.93 and $93.47. Today it trades at around $23.63. Year-to-date, the Bilibili share price is down by -46.88%. 

FactSet analysts have a consensus Buy rating on BILI stock with a target share price of $35.60.

NIO Inc. (NYSE: NIO)

NIO Inc. (NYSE: NIO) is another Chinese stock releasing earnings this week. The $33bn company will report its Q2 earnings on September 7. FactSet estimates have an EPS consensus of -$0.16 and a sales consensus of $1.4bn.

NIO manufactures and sells automobiles. The company offers electric vehicles and parts and provides battery charging services. NIO serves customers worldwide.

The company is currently facing share price pressure from negative rumors around the Chinese EV market, including chip shortages, Chinese lockdowns and potential delisting. NIO is a volatile stock, and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon. 

Over the past year, NIO stock has traded between $11.67 and $44.27. Today it trades at around $17.66. Year-to-date, the NIO stock price is by -47.03%.

FactSet analysts have a consensus Buy rating on NIO stock with a target share price of $31.10.

NIO stock has a P/BV of 5.5 and does not offer a shareholder dividend.
