Earnings Preview

Several notable companies are slated to release company earnings in the week ahead. We've picked out Squarespace, Inc (NYSE: SQSP), Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE: DKS), StealthGas Inc (NASDAQ: GASS), ZIM Integrated Shipping (NYSE: ZIM), and Oatly Group (NASDAQ: OTLY) as some of the interesting company earnings reports to look out for over the next five days.

Squarespace, Inc (NYSE: SQSP)

Digital publisher Squarespace, Inc (NYSE: SQSP) serves bloggers, artists, restaurants, and musicians. Last year it achieved record revenue and subscription sign-ups. Unfortunately, the company missed analyst estimates for FY21 EPS, although it beat by 0.2% on revenue. And its future guidance also missed analyst consensus. SQSP stock is responding to a price shock plummeting over 25% in pre-market trading.

SQSP Q4 Highlights

  • Total Revenue: $207.4m (up 20% Y/Y)

  • Net Loss: $16.3m

  • Adjusted EBITDA: $125.1m (up 7% Y/Y)

  • EPS: -$2.60 (missing analyst consensus of $0.66)

Q1 2022 Guidance

Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE: DKS)

Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE: DKS) is a $9.5bn company trading at a discount. Its price-to-earnings ratio is 8.5 and DKS stock offers shareholders a 1.6% dividend yield. The company has been hampered by supply chain issues and inflation in recent months so investors will be paying close attention to these areas. Dick’s Sporting Goods is due to release its Q4 earnings report before the market opens on Tuesday.

Over the past year, Dicks Sporting Goods has traded between $66.76 and $147.39. Today it hovers around $109.

StealthGas Inc (NASDAQ: GASS)

Greek maritime shipping agent StealthGas Inc (NASDAQ: GASS) owns and operates a fleet of vessels that carry liquified petroleum gas. Over the past year, StealthGas Inc has traded between $1.44 and $2.80. Today it’s closing in on its 52-week high, hovering around $2.64.

Year-to-date, GASS stock is up by 16.8% while the S&P 500 is down by 10.19% over the same period of time.

StealthGas Inc will release its Q4 and annual operating and financial results for the period ended December 31, 2021 before the market opens in New York on Tuesday.

ZIM Integrated Shipping (NYSE: ZIM)

Year-to-date, the ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd (NYSE: ZIM) stock is up by 26.64% while the S&P 500 is down by 9.75% over the same period of time. Indeed, ZIM stock soared last year in line with shipping rates and a rising demand for containers. Last quarter the Israeli company appeared to be generating impressive cash flow.

ZIM is due to release its Q4 earnings report before the market opens on Wednesday. And investors are keen to discover how ZIM fared in Q4 to evaluate whether ZIM Integrated Shipping Services stock makes a good investment in 2022?

Over the past year, ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd (ZIM) has traded between $18.7 and $75.33. Today it trades close to its high at $72.

Oatly Group (NASDAQ: OTLY)

Oat drink company Oatly Group (NASDAQ: OTLY) has endured a dismal ten months since IPO. The OTLY share price has plummeted 72% in that time. Oatly is vulnerable to inflation particularly when it comes to rising oat and rapeseed oil prices. With the world in turmoil and commodity prices soaring, this does not bode well for Oatly’s finances.

Oatly is due to report its Q4 earnings pre-market on Wednesday. It already reduced its outlook when reporting on last quarter, leading to analyst downgrades on OTLY stock.

Over the past year, Oatly has traded between $6 and $29. Today it trades close to its low at $6.05.
