Trump may announce troop withdrawals and a ceasefire in Iran's military campaign, with prediction markets showing fluctuating odds.

President Trump is preparing to announce progress regarding Iran's military activities, underscoring the potential for troop withdrawals and a ceasefire contingent on Iranian concessions. Current predictions indicate that the likelihood of a US-Iran ceasefire by April 7 has fallen to 8%, a decrease from 10% the previous day and significantly down from 26% a week ago.

Traders remain wary in the prediction market, with decreasing odds reflected for the April 7 date. Conversely, the market for April 15 has shifted to 18%, down from 20% yesterday, while expectations for April 30 have climbed to 38%, up from 36%. This suggests a growing anticipation for significant developments by the middle of April, particularly highlighted by the 20-point increase in predicted likelihood between April 15 and April 30.

Despite the volume of trading, actual monetary investment shows a more tepid interest. In the April 7 market, daily trades are around $205,330 in USDC, with $15,138 needed to influence the price by 5 points. The market has recently seen the most notable movement—a 2-point drop occurring at 8:13 AM. For April 15, the average daily trading activity has risen to $594,502 in USDC, where $43,954 can shift the price by 5 points, indicating a stable environment but still susceptible to large transaction impacts.

Trump's upcoming announcement aligns with recent signs of de-escalation, which could affect the odds of a ceasefire. Should Iran make concessions regarding its nuclear and missile programs, the probabilities may further shift. For a YES share priced at 8¢ for April 7, a resolution at $1 would provide a 12.5x return if a ceasefire is announced imminently. Therefore, traders must be convinced that a breakthrough is on the horizon for their investments to yield returns.

Investors should keep an eye out for statements from CENTCOM and any softened rhetoric from Tehran. Possible mediation by nations like Oman or Qatar could further enhance the chances of progress, with any confirmed discussions likely to raise the odds of a ceasefire significantly.
