FC Barcelona is targeting Eli Junior Kroupi, a talented young forward, but Bournemouth demands €100 million for a player they insist is off the market.

FC Barcelona is keen on acquiring Eli Junior Kroupi, a promising 19-year-old forward from AFC Bournemouth, who has made a significant impression in the Premier League this season. However, Bournemouth has set a hefty price tag of €100 million, declaring that their young talent is not for sale.

Kroupi, born on June 23, 2006, in Lorient, France, joined Bournemouth for about £12 million earlier this year. His value has skyrocketed since then, with the club now citing a valuation that is over eight times his original transfer fee. In the current 2025/26 season, Kroupi has scored between 12 and 13 goals in just 33 matches, demonstrating remarkable talent for a teenager entering his first full season in English football.

He is a versatile striker able to play multiple positions, which aligns perfectly with what Barcelona needs as they look for a future successor to Robert Lewandowski, who is nearing the end of his career. Barcelona sees Kroupi as a long-term investment, and they have already reached out to Bournemouth to express their interest, only to face an immediate rejection.

Interest from other Premier League clubs such as Manchester City and Arsenal further complicates matters, as Bournemouth holds a strong negotiating position. Kroupi’s contract extends until June 2030, giving Bournemouth no urgency to sell him at this point. The proposed €100 million fee presents challenges for Barcelona, which has recently focused on financial strategies like free transfers and loan deals to strengthen their roster under both Xavi and Hansi Flick.

An interesting aspect to consider is Kroupi's personal affinity for Barcelona, having grown up as a fan of the club. While this might help in negotiations, his commitment to the club does not diminish Bournemouth's contractual power.
