Bitdeer Technologies begins construction on a $36M crypto mining rig factory, set to produce 10,000 rigs monthly by end of 2026.

Bitdeer Technologies recently commenced construction on a significant cryptocurrency mining hardware factory in Sparks, Nevada. This $36 million facility will play a pivotal role in the company's expansion by enabling the production of up to 10,000 SEALMINER mining rigs each month. Founded by Jihan Wu, a notable figure in the industry, Bitdeer aims to reinvest in American manufacturing by allowing local production rather than relying on overseas operations.

#What Is Being Built at the Facility?

The new manufacturing site covers an impressive 187,000 square feet and is anticipated to be operational by the end of 2026. The lease agreement with Dermody Properties was finalized in December 2025. At the core of this development is the SEALMINER line, featuring proprietary ASIC chips that Bitdeer designs in-house. These chips optimize performance for both digital asset mining and artificial intelligence applications, reinforcing the dual-use capability of the rigs.

#What Benefits Will This Facility Bring?

This facility is more than just a manufacturing site; it is expected to create around 70 jobs in the Sparks region. This development aligns with Bitdeer's strategy of vertical integration, encompassing the entire lifecycle from chip design to mining operations.

#Why Nevada and Why Now?

The choice of Nevada is strategic, given the state's favorable regulations for cryptocurrency mining and its robust infrastructure. Bitdeer has existing operations in data centers and high-performance computing projects throughout the U.S. and Canada, making this move a natural extension of its existing business model.

#What Are the Implications for Investors?

The competitive landscape is notable, as many Bitcoin miners typically source their hardware from established entities like Bitmain and MicroBT, both based in China. If Bitdeer's Nevada facility meets its production targets, it could yield 120,000 rigs annually, positioning the company as a formidable player in the market. This transition marks a significant shift for Bitdeer, evolving from primarily a mining operator to a comprehensive hardware manufacturer. As the company progresses towards operational status, investors should monitor its stock performance for potential growth opportunities. With just a few months to complete construction and set up equipment, the coming period will be crucial for Bitdeer and its stakeholders.
