Bitnomial debuts US-regulated Aptos futures, enhancing digital asset derivatives for traders while meeting compliance and risk management needs.

#What Can You Expect from Bitnomial's New APT Futures?

Bitnomial has proudly introduced the first US-regulated Aptos (APT) futures on its trading platform. This launch significantly broadens the range of available digital asset derivatives in the United States, catering to both institutional and retail traders seeking a compliant environment for Aptos price discovery and risk management.

The newly launched futures contracts come with monthly expiration dates and can be settled in either USD or APT, depending on the chosen position direction. Participants have the flexibility to use either crypto or USD as margin through the Bitnomial Clearinghouse. This service is facilitated by the exchange’s Futures Commission Merchants clearing members.

The introduction of APT futures is noteworthy as it establishes an essential regulated futures market that could pave the way for spot crypto ETFs, aligning with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s standards for broader acceptance. With this advancement, institutions can effectively gain exposure to Aptos using the same infrastructure that supports Bitcoin and Ether derivatives, thereby allowing for portfolio margining across various positions.

Aptos operates on a layer 1 blockchain that utilizes the Move programming language alongside a parallel execution engine for rapid finality. This technology underpins the robust performance of the Aptos ecosystem.

Officials from Aptos Labs have observed that having a regulated derivatives infrastructure is vital for encouraging institutional adoption of blockchain technology. Bitnomial’s exchange and clearinghouse are registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, providing a necessary and secure framework that sophisticated market participants require to engage with Aptos while ensuring compliance and effective risk management.

Currently, APT futures are available to institutional clients, and retail access is expected to be offered soon through Bitnomial’s Botanical platform. Additionally, plans are in progress to introduce perpetual futures and options in the near future, further expanding the trading options available to investors and enhancing overall market participation.
