Cardano's creator announces plans for a new Discord to foster a supportive community away from drama on X.

#What plans are being made for the Cardano community?

In an effort to enhance communication within the Cardano ecosystem, Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, is collaborating with Phillip Pon, the president of EMURGO, to establish a Discord hub. This new platform aims to provide Cardano users with a well-regulated and positive alternative to X, which has become notorious for its governance conflicts and public disputes.

The introduction of this Discord channel is intended to foster a more constructive environment for community discussions. It will focus on reducing the controversies that have characterized interactions on Elon Musk's social media platform. Hoskinson plans to continue utilizing X for livestreaming but will limit participation in Ask Me Anything sessions to members of both the new Cardano Discord and the existing Midnight Discord.

#How is Cardano performing amid scrutiny?

These developments come during a challenging phase for Cardano as the blockchain faces increased scrutiny regarding its sustainability and a drop in market performance. Currently, ADA is trading at approximately $0.17, reflecting a 37% decline over the past month and a staggering 75% drop in the last year, according to data from CoinGecko.

Market activity surged following Hoskinson's announcement that he would be taking a break from certain responsibilities, coupled with a warning that some segments of Cardano’s ecosystem might falter. This cautionary note followed the recent closure of TapTools and a divisive community decision to refrain from funding the planned Cardano 2026 summit.

Astute investors and community members are encouraged to engage constructively in the new Discord space as it develops, harnessing opportunities for better communication and collaboration within the ecosystem.
