Coinbase supports MegaETH deposits ahead of its April 30 TGE, signaling strong market interest and expectations for trading success.

Coinbase has initiated support for deposits of MegaETH, or MEGA, ahead of its Token Generation Event set for April 30. A contract on Polymarket indicates a speculative 98.1% probability that the token will launch as planned, while also suggesting that its market cap could surpass $6 billion the day after launch. Given the recent listing of deposits on Coinbase, the sub-market likelihood of launch has climbed from 97% to 98.1%.

The asset issuer still needs to enable transfer capabilities, which are crucial for trading to commence. In the USDC market, the trading volume recently recorded is $472,618. It's important to note that it requires about $77,754 in trades to alter MEGA's price by 5%. This suggests a robust order book with genuine market depth.

Why is this significant? The support for deposits by a major platform like Coinbase before a TGE indicates strong anticipated demand, which could be a positive sign for investors. Market participants have also shown confidence in future contracts: the June 30 contract shows a 99.8% probability and December's contract is at 99.9%. These figures imply that the market largely expects a successful token launch.

For investors observing this situation, the current pricing shows that a YES share is now worth about 98 cents, delivering a return of 1.02 times. However, this leaves limited potential for profit from new purchases. A contrarian viewpoint could arise depending on a delay in the Token Generation Event or potential regulatory hurdles impacting the launch. It's crucial for investors to stay tuned for any announcements from the MegaETH team and updates from Coinbase regarding the timeline for live trading. The upcoming TGE post-April 30 will be a definitive moment, likely confirming or undermining current price expectations.
