Cyera, a data security company, raised $600 million in 2024 to enhance its AI-native security platform for Fortune 1000 firms.

#What is Cyera and Why is it Significant?

Cyera is a data security firm that was launched three years before it garnered significant attention in 2024. The company successfully raised $600 million through two funding rounds to enhance its AI-native security trust platform tailored for Fortune 1000 companies. As AI systems introduce a plethora of both opportunities and vulnerabilities, Cyera positions itself as a crucial player in this evolving landscape.

#How Did Cyera Secure $600 Million in Funding?

The funding of $600 million occurred in two equal segments. Initially, a $300 million Series C round completed in April 2024 elevated the company's valuation to $1.4 billion. By October 2024, a second $300 million round, known as Series D, pushed the valuation further to an impressive $3 billion.

#What Does Cyera Offer in the Field of Data Security?

Founded in New York by military veterans Yota Segev and Tamar Bar-Ilan, Cyera specializes in what is termed Data Security Posture Management (DSPM). This platform assists large enterprises in pinpointing the locations of their sensitive data, identifying who has access, and determining if any data faces unanticipated threats.

This DSPM platform includes three essential functions:

  • Data Classification: This capability catalogues and assesses the sensitivity of existing data.
  • AI Systems Security: This function protects both the AI models and the pipelines involved.
  • Runtime Protection: This monitors for threats in real-time, ensuring ongoing safety.

#What Has Fueled Cyera's Rapid Growth?

After achieving a valuation of $3 billion in November 2024, Cyera's financial prowess only grew stronger. The firm raised an additional $540 million in mid-2025, increasing its valuation to $6 billion. Further funding rounds saw an impressive climb; $400 million in January 2026 raised it to $9 billion, and by June 2026, another $300 million round reportedly drove the valuation to a staggering $12 billion. Over time, Cyera has amassed a total of more than $1.7 billion in funding.

Prominent investors backing Cyera include Accel, Coatue, and Sequoia Capital, with private equity powerhouse Blackstone taking the lead in more recent funding rounds. Additionally, Cyera has strategically expanded its reach by acquiring companies like Trail Security for $162 million and Ryft for an estimated $100 million to $130 million.

#Does Cyera Operate Within the Traditional Enterprise Space?

It's important to note that Cyera strictly engages in traditional enterprise software solutions. The firm has no dealings with cryptocurrencies or blockchain technologies, strategically positioning itself squarely within the realm of conventional enterprise security solutions. As businesses grapple with the challenges posed by AI, Cyera's dedicated approach to data security could serve as a vital resource for protecting sensitive information.
