Nexo is reinforcing its European strategy by confirming operations through German firms holding MiCAR licenses, ensuring compliance and continuity.

Nexo is strengthening its strategy in Europe by confirming its operations in the European Economic Area through two German firms holding MiCAR licenses. The platform relies on Tangany for custody services and DLT Finance for brokerage and trading. This framework ensures that Nexo operates smoothly under the new crypto regulations established in the region.

Tangany, based in Munich, plays a critical role in protecting Nexo's assets in the EEA, overseeing over €3 billion in assets with more than 60 institutional and 700,000 retail customers. On the trading front, DLT Finance, located in Frankfurt, manages the brokerage functions. It has both BaFin authorization and MiFID II licensing, and it is currently expanding its operations following its MiCAR authorization.

How did Nexo prepare for the MiCAR requirements? Nexo effectively communicated its readiness on June 15, 2026, ensuring that its services would continue uninterrupted under German oversight as European regulations shifted. The reaffirmation around July 28 highlights that the processes are operational and efficient, providing stakeholders with confidence.

Another significant advantage of this structure is the ability to passport services across the EEA with a single authorization. This approach simplifies previous complexities where crypto firms had to deal with various national registrations for Virtual Asset Service Providers and Crypto-Asset Service Providers. MiCAR consolidates these requirements, enabling Nexo’s German-licensed partners to access the entire European market seamlessly.

Nexo also confirmed that the functionality of its NEXO token will remain intact, regardless of the ongoing regulatory transition. This steadfastness offers continuity in a landscape where many competitors have had to adjust or remove token-related features altogether.

This strategic approach positions Nexo favorably within the European market, allowing it to thrive while adhering to evolving regulations and maintaining a strong connection with its user base.
