Nutanix Achieves Nvidia-Certified Status for AI Infrastructure

Nutanix has achieved Nvidia-Certified status for its Unified Storage solution, enhancing its position in enterprise AI infrastructure.

Nutanix has recently secured a significant position in the enterprise AI infrastructure landscape by achieving Nvidia-Certified status for its Unified Storage solution, commonly referred to as NUS. This certification confirms that NUS meets Nvidia's stringent criteria for performance, scalability, and interoperability in production-grade AI systems.

What does the certification entail? The Nvidia certification ensures that Nutanix's unified storage solution provides full-stack interoperability and linear scalability when integrated with Nvidia's AI systems. Nutanix asserts that the performance capabilities of NUS, combined with GPUDirect Storage integration, allow agentic AI workloads to reach near line-speed performance per node. This advancement addresses and mitigates the data transfer issues that often hinder many enterprise setups.

Nutanix's relationship with Nvidia is not new. Previously, Nutanix validated NUS as a GPUDirect Storage solution and has been an active design partner in Nvidia's STX program. Earlier in 2023, the company's AHV hypervisor received Nvidia AI Enterprise certification, paving the way for this latest achievement.

Looking ahead, Nutanix plans to incorporate BlueField-4 STX support in the latter half of 2026. This move aligns with Nvidia's modular storage reference architecture designed for AI operations, with the BlueField-4 STX architecture having been unveiled in March 2026. Nutanix is among a select few recognized storage partners enhancing this architecture.

Analyzing performance metrics, in 2025, Nutanix revealed MLPerf Storage benchmark results, with clusters managing up to 2,312 accelerators utilizing the ResNet-50 workload. The Nvidia certification obtained in June 2026 builds on this foundation, confirming NUS’s capability specifically for agentic AI workloads where autonomous agents must execute complex reasoning tasks, requiring rapid and unpredictable read and write operations. This makes the characteristics of storage latency and throughput exceptionally critical.

Why should investors care? Nutanix is trading under the ticker $NTNX and is strategically shifting toward AI infrastructure. The planned integration of BlueField-4 STX in late 2026 is a development worth observing closely. The BlueField Data Processing Units (DPUs) enhance efficiency by offloading networking and storage responsibilities from the CPU, maximizing compute resources for AI applications. The STX architecture promotes a standardized and modular method of connecting storage solutions with Nvidia's AI platforms. As a design partner, Nutanix gains valuable insights into reference designs and future roadmaps.

Investors should monitor adoption metrics among customers and assess whether the partnership with Nvidia translates into tangible revenue growth in Nutanix’s AI-related product offerings over the upcoming quarters.
