Bitwise is launching the Hyperliquid ETF, providing investors direct exposure to HYPE with in-house staking ahead of market demand.

#What Is the Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF?

The Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF is set to launch soon, trading under the ticker BHYP. This Exchange Traded Fund offers 100% direct exposure to HYPE, which is the native token of the Hyperliquid trading platform. Bitwise's approach is notable for incorporating in-house staking architecture, instead of relying on external staking providers, thereby enhancing the fund’s offer to investors.

#How Does the ETF Work?

The primary aim of the ETF is to track the value of HYPE held by the trust, while its secondary objective focuses on generating additional HYPE through staking activities. This unique strategy could present investors with a cost-effective opportunity to engage with Hyperliquid’s growth as it rises in the onchain trading ecosystem. The ETF has a minimal sponsor fee of 0.34%, which will be waived for the first month on the initial $500 million in assets.

#Why Choose the Bitwise Hyperliquid ETF?

Bitwise highlights that Hyperliquid stands out as a significant player in the onchain trading market, dominating approximately 60% of global open interest in perpetual decentralized exchanges (DEX). With the capability to process around 200,000 orders per second, its operational efficiency is impressive, suggesting robust potential for investors.

#What Has the Market Response Been?

The ETF's launch aligns shortly after 21Shares introduced its own Hyperliquid ETF, providing valuable insights into the demand for HYPE exposure via traditional investment channels. The early performance of the 21Shares product reveals substantial interest, logging over $4.47 million in trading volume soon after its launch.

#What Is the Significance of Coinbase's Announcement?

Coinbase recently declared its role as the official treasury deployer of USDC on Hyperliquid, further embedding the stablecoin’s utility within the platform’s capital market environment. This partnership is likely to bolster the collaboration between Hyperliquid and Coinbase, a key player in the cryptocurrency exchange sector.

In the wake of these significant developments, the HYPE token surged by more than 15%, reaching nearly $45 before adjusting slightly. It was observed trading around $43.80 as investors responded to the ETF's unveiling, the benefits of in-house staking, and the deepened integration of USDC.
