Ripple teams up with Aviva Investors to tokenize investment funds, advancing blockchain’s role in traditional finance.

Ripple is making significant strides in the financial sector in collaboration with Aviva Investors to advance the tokenization of traditional investment funds. This partnership enables the conversion of conventional fund products into digital tokens using the XRP Ledger’s robust infrastructure. Notably, this marks Ripple's first collaboration with a European asset manager, showcasing an exciting milestone in the evolution of digital finance.

The partnership will be highlighted during XRP Community Day, providing insights from experts such as Markus Infanger from Ripple and Alastair Sewell from Aviva. The XRP Ledger, established in 2012 for efficient cross-border transfers and asset digitization, has processed over 4 billion transactions to date. This network currently supports approximately 7 million active wallets and is capable of handling around 1,500 transactions per second, underscoring its reliability and scalability.

Aviva Investors, which manages assets totaling $346 billion, recognizes tokenized funds as a promising area of innovation. The firm views this approach as a way to enhance efficiency in both time and cost for investors. Aviva’s dedication to leveraging technology aligns with its mission to provide value to clients by embracing advancements that improve underlying operations.

The sector of tokenization is evolving quickly, transitioning from experimental concepts to actual applications in the market. Ripple's Vice President of Trading and Markets notes that the XRP Ledger offers a secure and compliant framework essential for institutional adoption in the future. Aviva’s launch of blockchain-based fund structures marks a pivotal entry, with ongoing collaboration anticipated into 2026 and beyond, signaling a progressive shift in how traditional and digital finance can intersect to benefit investors.
