SharpLink has expanded its Ethereum holdings to 886,725 ETH, signaling strong investment growth and strategic financial positioning.

SharpLink, a company listed on Nasdaq as $SBET, recently added 10,000 ETH to its portfolio at an average price of $1,611 each, raising its total Ethereum supply to an impressive 886,725 ETH. This acquisition took place on June 30 and is part of a broader strategy, as SharpLink had also purchased 5,000 ETH just days prior, ranging in price from about $1,537 to $1,570 per token.

In addition to acquiring ETH, SharpLink also engaged in repurchasing 2,132,773 shares of its common stock at a price of $4.69 per share. This dual approach highlights the company’s commitment to bolstering its financial stability while expanding its cryptocurrency assets.

SharpLink's shift towards accumulating Ethereum hasn’t occurred overnight. The organization has been strategically increasing its ETH holdings through various means, which include equity raises, over-the-counter transactions, and on-chain yield strategies. A notable deal in this evolution occurred in July 2025, when SharpLink directly acquired 10,000 ETH from the Ethereum Foundation for approximately $25.7 million, amounting to around $2,572 per ETH. This earlier purchase significantly exceeds the current acquisition price, indicating a potential opportunity for value.

SharpLink is spearheaded by Joseph Lubin, a co-founder of Ethereum, who provides a wealth of expertise and insight into the cryptocurrency market. The company collaborates with Consensys, the Ethereum software company founded by Lubin, along with Galaxy Digital to implement on-chain yield strategies and enhance its infrastructure support.

In the first quarter of 2026, SharpLink recorded staking rewards of approximately 18,800 ETH. At current market prices, these quarterly rewards translate to over $30 million, a significant revenue boost for the company.

#What does this mean for investors?

With this acquisition strategy, SharpLink has emerged as one of the largest corporate holders of Ethereum, placing it just behind Bitmine Immersion Technologies in terms of ETH holdings. Reflecting on their July 2025 purchase price of $2,572 per ETH compared to the latest acquisition at $1,611, it becomes clear that a substantial portion of SharpLink's treasury was amassed at prices significantly higher than today’s market value. This raises important considerations for current and potential investors, especially regarding the implications for SharpLink's future growth and profitability.
