#How has USDC on the Stellar Network Grown?
The supply of USDC on the Stellar network has surged by 34.7% in the past month, reaching a significant market cap of $365.5 million. This growth highlights Stellar's evolving role as a leading platform for cross-border payments and remittances.
This increase is closely linked to Circle's introduction of the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, known as CCTP, on Stellar in May 2026. This new protocol seamlessly connects Stellar with 23 different blockchains. Its primary goal is to enhance the movement of USDC across multiple chains.
#What Changes Does CCTP Bring to Cross-Chain USDC Transfers?
The implementation of CCTP revolutionizes how USDC is transferred across different platforms. Prior to CCTP, transferring USDC between blockchains often involved using wrapped tokens or unreliable third-party bridges, both of which presented significant risks. Wrapped tokens require trust in intermediaries, while bridges have been prone to security vulnerabilities.
CCTP offers a solution through its burn-and-mint process. When USDC is transferred from Ethereum to Stellar, the tokens on Ethereum are burned, and new tokens are minted directly on Stellar. This method eliminates the need for middlemen and reduces the risk of hacking compared to traditional bridges. As a result, users now benefit from safer and more efficient transfers, linking Stellar with major blockchain ecosystems, including Ethereum and Solana, totaling 23 destinations.
As of August 7, 2026, Circle reported that the USDC supply specifically on Stellar stands at approximately $360.5 million.

#How has Stellar Emerged as a Stablecoin Network?
USDC made its debut on Stellar in February 2021 after being announced in the preceding October. In this relatively short span, the Stellar network has facilitated over 4.5 million USDC transactions, with the total payment volume exceeding $3 billion. Despite this impressive growth, the $365.5 million in USDC on the network represents only roughly 0.5% of the total USDC supply, which amounts to nearly $72 billion across all supported chains.
Stellar's capabilities as a stablecoin network continue to evolve, presenting opportunities for those involved in cross-border transactions and remittances.
