Rick LaBelle, ICD.D, MBA

CEO & Director

Company CEO Mr. LaBelle brings over 40 years of mining sector experience to Atlas Salt, including nearly three decades in executive leadership roles. Over the years, he has successfully orchestrated M&A transactions totaling over $5 billion (CDN) in value. With an engineering background, as former President & CEO of Dumas Mining (2017-2022), he was pivotal in establishing the company as a leading underground mine builder worldwide.

Robert Booth, P.Eng, PMP

VP, Engineering & Construction

In the past decade, Mr. Booth has managed $1.5bn worth of large capital projects in underground construction as an engineer. Notably, he recently worked with Newmont, the world’s largest gold mining company. While at Hudbay between 2018 and 2021, Mr. Booth oversaw a rapid and cost-effective expansion of the Snow Lake operations in Manitoba, showcasing his ability to deliver results efficiently. He also enjoyed a successful operational role at Vale.

Alasdair Federico

VP, Corporate Affairs

An executive and lawyer, Mr. Federico has a proven track record of fostering productive relationships between mining companies and important stakeholders. Serving as Kirkland Lake Gold’s Executive VP for Corporate Affairs & Social Responsibility from late 2016 to May 2021, he played a pivotal role in the company’s remarkable growth phase. Here he spearheaded various expansion initiatives with support from local communities and First Nations. He has a successful track record in permitting and environmental assessments in Canada.

Michael Psihogios

Chief Financial Officer

Michael Psihogios is an accomplished financial executive with 20 years of experience working with public, private and investment companies in the natural resource sector. He served as CFO of Dumas Mining, an underground mine builder, from 2016 to 2021, where he orchestrated a financial turnaround and growth strategy, ensuring access to capital through equity, debt, and asset-backed lenders. Before this, Michael worked extensively with an international natural resource private equity fund. He is known for his expertise in financial management, systems/controls establishment, and corporate development.

Patrick Laracy

Chairman and Director

Atlas Salt founder Mr. Laracy has successfully secured over $125 million in high-risk exploration expenditures through equity and joint venture financings. He is a member of the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador, with over 30 years of industry experience in various technical and executive capacities. He is the founder of Atlas Salt and CEO & Director of Vulcan Minerals.

Andrew Smith

Mine Project Manager

Mr. Smith is an engineer and mine construction specialist with over 10 years of experience. This includes a significant role as the former head of Project Management at Dumas Mining. During his tenure, he successfully managed underground mine-building projects valued at over $500 million.

Rowland Howe

Director

Mr. Howe is a Chartered Engineer with 30 years of experience in the salt industry. He served as Mine General Manager at Goderich in Ontario from 1995-2011. Here he oversaw the expansion of Compass Minerals’ operation, transforming it into the largest and most profitable salt mine in North America. Under his leadership, production increased from 3.5 million tonnes per year to 7.5 million tonnes, setting an unmatched annual record. He is currently President of the Goderich Port Management Corporation.

Fraser H. Edison

Director

Mr Edison has diverse experience spanning finance, construction, oil and gas, and transportation management. He currently holds prominent positions as President and Chairman of the Board at Rutter Inc., former Chairman of the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation, and serves as a member of the board and governance committee at Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.

Marc Boissonneault

Director

Mr. Boissonneault P.Eng. MBA is a mining industry leader with over 35 years of experience. He has a successful track record in managing major mining operations and projects globally, prioritizing health, safety, environmental, and community standards (HSEC). His leadership has resulted in industry-leading safety performance and adherence to the highest environmental standards, with recognition including multiple John T. Ryan Awards in Canada.

F. Carson Noel, LL.B., B.Comm

Director

Mr. Noel is an experienced professional with over 20 years in law and business consulting, specifically within exchange-listed companies ranging from start-ups to exploration and development phases. He is the founding Director and Past President of the Ecuador-Canada Chamber of Commerce.
