Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd

Reconnaissance Energy Africa is a junior oil and gas company opening up its 100%-owned, newly-discovered deep Kavango Sedimentary Basin in northeastern Namibia and northwestern Botswana. ReconAfrica holds multi-year exploration licenses covering 8.75 million contiguous acres over the entire Basin, and will be awarded 25-year production licenses if it makes a commercial discovery. The company will kick off work in the ground in December 2020 when it launches a fully-funded, three-well drilling programme using a rig purchased in full in February 2020. Through its drilling, the firm hopes to prove that an active petroleum system runs through the Kavango Basin, a transformation milestone that will de-risk the project significantly.
