Company Overview
Shaw Communications business has evolved over its wireless initiatives in the last few years. The company has been benefiting from the rollout of the 2500 MHz spectrum in high traffic sites in the greater Toronto area (GTA), Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. The company has completed the deployment of the 700 MHz spectrum in Western Canada and nationwide. The company is now focusing on deploying 600 MHz spectrum across its wireless operating footprint. These network and spectrum improvements supported the launch of the company's Big Gig data plans, expanded handset lineup and led to two new national retail agreements to further develop its distribution network. Moreover, Shaw Communications continues to deploy small cell technology, designed to provide network coverage to smaller areas. Furthermore, Shaw Communications is gaining footprint in the wireline space to thanks BlueCurve and SmartSuite products. Company reports in 2 segments: Wireline and Wireless.
