If you’re going to invest in a company, you want to know that your money is in good hands. That’s why it’s important to get to know the key figures behind the business. With that in mind, QYOU Media’s three founders are:
Curt Marvis
Co-founder & CEO
QYOU is headed by entertainment industry veteran Marvis, who has previously served as President of Digital Media at cinema powerhouse Lionsgate. He also has experience of building businesses from the ground up, having co-founded and led on demand and internet streaming media company CinemaNow.
Before becoming a major player in the boardroom, Marvis worked extensively behind the camera. He produced a litany of music videos for the likes of Bon Jovi, Janet Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Metallica, as well as a number of music documentaries.
G. Scott Paterson
Co-founder & Chairman
Paterson is a venture capitalist and was one of the initial investors in Lionsgate Entertainment, where he has served as a Director since the business was founded back in 1997.
Paterson is also an expert in tech. He co-founded Engagement Labs, a firm which utilises machine learning to aid social media marketing efforts, and Symbility Solutions, a SaaS platform for insurance companies which was sold for CA$164m in 2018. Additionally, he co-founded secure document exchange business FutureVault in 2014 and currently serves as the company’s executive chairman.
Paterson has served as Chair of the Board of the Toronto Venture Stock Exchange, Vice Chair of the Toronto Stock Exchange and a Governor of the Investment Dealers Association, among other significant positions in the Canadian investor community.
