The cryptocurrency selloff is barrelling on and showing no signs of letting up, leaving many major coins looking worse for wear.

Trending Cryptos

The crypto crash continued over the weekend, with major coins like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) falling to less than half of their all-time high levels. The digital currencies seem to be following equities lower amid continuing fears of tighter monetary policy.

Here are some of the top crypto stories:

  • While investors have already been spooked by hints of Fed policy changes, reports that US President Biden could release an executive order concerning cryptocurrency by the end of February are also causing concern.

  • Thieves made off with a record total of $14bn in stolen cryptocurrency in 2021, according to a new report from Chainalysis.

  • Finally, perhaps the oddest story of the day. A survivor who was wounded in the 2015 Bataclan Paris terrorist attacks was surprised to find that her surgeon, Emmanuel Masmejean, has attempted to sell her X-rays as an NFT.
