As such, the new partnership is a significant way for QYOU to increase the size of its already growing audience.
Connected TV in India
Connected TV refers to traditional television sets with internet functionality. They allow users to use music and video streaming services, browse the internet, and view photos. Of course, they can also watch traditional TV broadcasts.
It’s a technology which is rapidly growing in popularity in India. The number of connected TV households in India is projected to jump from 25 million to 40 million between 2022 and 2025, according to Statista.
To exemplify this growth, nine out of ten TV’s sold in India last year were Smart TV’s. This rapid growth has caught the attention of advertisers. Statistics supplied by QYOU say that global ad revenues in the Connected/Smart TV space have enjoyed $25.9bn in revenue globally in 2023, representing a CAGR of 13.2%.
Indians are watching an average of 3 hours and 44 minutes of TV every day and this number has grown in recent years. QYOU’s faith in the market looks well-placed.
